Felt-o-ween: a Very Special Giveaway!

To celebrate the publication of Lark Books' awesome new Halloween craft book, Felt-o-ween* I've got a copy to give away!

(* Okay so I'm a teeny bit biased as there are eight projects by me in the book but it is such a fun book with a ton of cute projects to stitch! If you love felt crafting + cute stuff + Halloween then you're going to love this book!).

But that's not all, oh no. The lucky winner will also win a copy of two other holiday-themed felt books from Lark: Fa La La La Felt and Heart-Felt Holidays...

... and the "Devil-Made-Me-Do-It" pincushion that I made for Felt-o-ween.

Just leave a comment on this blog post for your chance to win!

Leave your comment before 10pm on Tuesday 7th October, and I'll pick the winner at random on Wednesday 8th October. I'll then post the pincushion myself and pass the winner's address along so the books can be posted to them.

Please make sure you leave a name or pseudonym (no anonymous comments please!) and leave a blog link, Twitter username, Etsy username or email address so I can contact you. This giveaway is open internationally. Yay!

If I'm unable to contact the winner within a week, I will pick someone else. If you're leaving a comment with your Blogger profile, please remember that you need to have your profile set to public & to have a contact email visible for me to be able to get in touch with you.

UPDATE: this giveaway is now closed.

Felt-o-ween is published by Lark Books. It's available from Amazon USA, Amazon UK, The Book Depository, Barnes & Noble and many other bookshops.

P.S. The Amazon and Book Depository links in this post are affiliate links.

Free Tutorial: Felt Moustaches

With Father's Day just around the corner, the lovely folks over at Lark Crafts are giving away my "manly moustaches" tutorial from Heart-Felt Holidays. Felt moustaches for everyone! :)

You can download the felt moustache instructions HERE.

The moustaches make great photo props! Here are some of my favourite shots from back when my Etsy shop was full of moustaches...

Distractions

This blog, my sewing pile, my inbox and the rest of my "to do" list have all been a bit neglected this week due to some family stuff. I haven't even got around to updating the shipping charges in my shops yet! Oops.

I'm hoping to get back to my usual slightly irregular blogging schedule very soon but apologies in advance if posts are a bit sparse for the next couple of weeks.

I've not done much crafting this week, but I've done a bit of simple knitting and am keeping up to date with my sky blanket. These are today's colours...

... after a week of grey, rainy skies it's very nice to see a bit of bright blue back in the mix.

Oh and great news, Heart-Felt Holidays (which includes 6 projects designed by me) is now in stock on Amazon UK. Hurrah!

Browsing craft books on Amazon this weekend I was also delighted to see that my book, Super-Cute Felt, has been given some lovely reviews on Amazon UK and Amazon USA... and check out this customer image of a needlebook made from one of the patterns in the book! It's always so ace seeing what people have been making from my book.

P.S. if you've bought Super-Cute Felt or any of the books featuring some of my projects - like Heart-Felt Holidays, or Fa La La La Felt - and can spare the time to leave a review on Amazon, it would be much appreciated :)

Giveaway: Heart-Felt Holidays

Kicking off "book week", I've got two copies of Heart-Felt Holidays up for grabs...

Heart-Felt Holidays is the follow up to Lark Crafts' book of felt Christmas crafts, Fa La La La Felt. This time round, instead of Christmas projects, there's 40 things to make for holidays and festivals throughout the year from Easter and Halloween to Chinese New Year and Groundhog Day

Most of the projects are from the same designers who worked on Fa La La La Felt (including me! I've got six projects in this book - you can read more about my projects here) so chances are if you liked Fa La La La Felt then you'll like this book too. Both books focus on fun and cute beginner-friendly designs, with an introductory guide to working with felt and simple step-by-step instructions for each individual project.

When my copies arrived I was delighted to see that my cake toppers make an appearance on the back cover...

.. and that one of my heart ornaments had been chosen for the spine of the book :)

Heart-Felt Holidays is now available to buy from Amazon.com and to pre-order from Amazon.co.uk.

I'm giving away one copy (signed by me) to a reader based in the UK... and Lark Crafts are giving away one copy (signed by the editors, Kathy Sheldon & Amanda Carestio) to a reader based in the USA.

If you're not in the UK or the USA, I'm afraid you can't enter this giveaway but don't despair! You can follow these links to download some free projects from the book instead: the bunny from the front cover, some bunny bunting, a piece of pumpkin pie, a mushroom love brooch, or a leprechaun finger puppet.

Want to enter? Just leave a comment on this blog post for your chance to win - please say which country you're from so I can pick one winner from each! Leave your comment before 10pm on Tuesday 10th April, and I'll pick two winners at random on Wednesday 11th April.

Please make sure you leave a name or pseudonym (no anonymous comments please!) and leave a blog link, Twitter username, Etsy username or email address so I can contact you. If I'm unable to contact the winner within two weeks then I will pick someone else.

Bargains + Parrots

I've added a few things to my Etsy shop this week...

There's a few bargain felt bundles:

A selection of "not quite perfect" felt squares that are have a small mark on them or are slightly mis-shapen - update: these have now been sold.

A pack of bright felt pieces that aren't quite square:

And some grey felt squares in colours I don't normally sell (I ordered these by mistake, oops!).

There's also a bargain bundle of elasticated sequin trim - 20 metres for just £4! Update: these have now been sold.

And there's also an extra large embroidery thread box (+ 72 embroidery threads and bobbins to wind them onto). This box is 1cm deeper than the other boxes I sell, has movable dividers and is sturdier than the other boxes but I've listed it at the same price. Update: this has now been sold.

I've also listed the two parrots I stitched for Heart-Felt Holidays. There's a parrot brooch...

... and a large pirate parrot to wear as part of a pirate costume. Arrr!

They can all be found over in my Etsy shop.

Heart-Felt Holidays

I've got some fun news to share with you today...

The lovely people at Lark Books are publishing a follow-up to their Christmas craft book Fa la la la Felt.

It's called Heart-Felt Holidays and it contains "40 charming projects for Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more."

And it includes SIX whole projects by me. Yay!

Wanna see my projects?

There's cake toppers for birthday cakes and cupcakes:

A version of my popular butterfly mobile for a baby shower:

Heart baubles for Valentine's Day:

Lavender "teabags" for Mother's Day:

Manly moustaches for Father's Day:

Plus a pirate eyepatch and parrot for Talk Like a Pirate Day:

... which also includes instructions for making a half-size parrot to wear as a brooch:

I can't wait to see a copy of the finished book, and to see everyone else's projects.

Heart-Felt Holidays is currently available to pre-order on Amazon USA and Amazon UK. Although it's officially due to be published in April in the USA the books will apparently be shipping to US stores very soon. Hurrah!
