I did some work on my sky blanket at the weekend...
I got caught up with knitting each day's squares (there's been lots of grey days lately, but some nice autumn sunshine too!)...
... sewed in & trimmed lots of yarn ends...
... and made a start on adding all the recent squares to the blanket, marking them all off on the chart as I go along. There's only a few more rows left to go now.
The blanket is getting really big now, and quite heavy! It's a super cosy project to work on in the chilly autumn evenings, I get so warm with it on my lap sometimes I have to take my sweater off :)

I love that you're still doing this! :) This will be the snuggliest and prettiest blanket ever when it's done, I know it <3
xo,
wink
It is really looking lovely. I wonder if you made another one in a couple of years how different it will look.
Do you mine me asking what size needles, how many stitches and rows for each square. I am trying to motivate my 18 year old to carry on knitting and this might be a nice kit to put together for her for Christmas.
( hope you don't mind me asking)
I spend a whole day yesterday feeling under the weather catching up on your blog as blogger seems to have dropped many blogs from my list. Hope 2013 is going to be a cracking year for you.

Looking good ... will be really interesting to see what the predominate colour is at the end of the year.

Winkieflash - it is getting to be very snuggly, a bit like a knitted quilt!
Colette - I'm using 6mm needles and casting on 12 stitches, then knitting 10 rows to make a square. Using 2 strands of yarn to knit with, the squares knit up very quickly. The trickiest thing was guessing how many balls of each colour yarn I'd need to buy... You can see info re: the brand & colours of yarn I'm using here: http://bugsandfishes.blogspot.com/2011/12/project-for-2012.html
Fleur - I've been surprised by how much blue there is, given how bad the weather's been for so much of this year
I love watching your progress with this. It looks great.
It's looking great - really chunky and snuggly :-)
It looks lovely! I've just started knitting and love the idea of a project like this! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished piece!

Super idea! Love the colors. I might try something like this with crocheting, since I don't knit.
Lynn - you should give it a try! I've seen pics online of a couple of crochet sky blankets other people are making and they look lovely :)
This is unbelievably gorgeous. You motivated me to start a blanket of my own, it will probably only be a baby one, but I may be adding to it with time :) Crocheting is great way to calm down after an exhausting day
:)
Yay! Best of luck with your blanket :)
