Today has mostly been about deadlines and housework. Double yawn.
I did tackle one creative project though: giving myself a new haircut :)
My hair has been long for ages - I was getting bored with it, so it was time for a change. I'm a great believer in DIY haircuts, despite many self-inflicted disasters in the past, but I think this one turned out okay (it does need a bit of levelling out at the back though!)

your hair looks lovely. I manage to trim by fringe & front layers but have never dared to take anything off the length, for fear! x
Wow that is fab - I wish I could do a DIY haircut like that :-)
So cute; I can't believe you did that yourself, you brave girl!
Have you done it yourself!! It's very well done!! it really suits you!!
I think you look gorgeous with shorter hair! Well done!
Great job! You should have done a tutorial. I've been thinking about cutting my hair for about a week now. I have been giving myself bangs and face-framing layers for years now, but am terrified of cutting the back!
I had to laugh, not at your hair, it looks great! I just gave myself a DIY haircut too, thought I wqas the only one out there doing it!!
Quite courageous of you! well done, however. and i know perfectly well what does it mean to be bored by one's long hair, so congrats with a success! ))
You look very good.
It looks lovely!
I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one crazy enough to cut my own hair :)
Hi,
I found your lovely blog looking for ideas for a gift wrapping.
I wanted to ask you: how would you wrap up a banjo? Yes, I bought a banjo for my boyfriend but really I'm lacking of ideas!
Please help me : )
Paola
Thanks for the sweet comments everyone! :)
Paola, perhaps brown parcel paper and string, with a bow or gift tag made from old sheet music?
looks nice.
i've contemplated a diy haircut myself, but my hair is very long, so i think even minor mistakes would prove to be extremely noticable.
we could go anywhere..
oh wow!! Very nice ^_^ Sometimes we all need a change and a lift. My secret weapon is actually having my hubby help me with the back.
Doesn't look DIY at all... or maybe it does, and that's why it looks so great! :) I always seem to do it myself, can't trust the hairdressers :)
Don't know how I missed this but I cut my own hair all the time. Years ago I used to cut my kids as well and a freind who was a hairdresser told me that if you have long hair put it in a pony tail at the base of your neck then chop off the ponytail(or get a freind to) and your hair will magically have been cut in a layered bob, short at the back and long at the front. Alternately brush your hair forward and make the ponytail on your forhead/nose and you end up with short at the front and longer at back!! Saved me a fortune over the years..
Yes, the ponytail thing is a great way to get an easy haircut! I often do that and just trim it with nail scissors afterwards :)
