Hairband Central

My crafty "to do" pile is filled with hairbands this weekend - as always happens, I'm running low on lots of designs all at once - some just started, and some almost finished.

I'm working on a mix of purple dahlias...... sunflowers...... orange poppies...... oak leaves...... and bows in assorted colours (the grey ones are probably my favourite). It's nice getting into the rhythm of sewing small batches of similar things, lovely relaxing work in between reading the weekend papers and watching the telly (looking forward to ITV's new Marple on this evening!)

UPDATE: My dahlia, sunflower, and poppy designs are now available as sewing patterns! Visit my shop to see all my printable PDF patterns

I'm not sure how I ended up at your blog - may have been searching for "teacup"...but wanted to tell you that I think your work is exquisite!!! Do you really hand-cut all your felt by hand? Wow! I am a fan! - gigi

Lovely hairbands - I particularly like the dahlias - very seasonal!

Oh! Have you done anything with oak leaves before? That's lovely! Very wood nymphy. :)

Dizzy Broad - thankyou so much! I do cut and sew everything by hand, yes. It takes a while sometimes but I think it's worth it :)

Rebekah - I'm just restocking older designs at the moment... itching to make some new things, but this has to come first! I first made the oak leaves as brooches, but I think they work better as hairbands now. As you say, you do feel a bit like a wood nymph wearing one!
