Snowy Owls

Here's a quick snap I took a couple of weeks ago and forgot to share with you guys - I was sewing a whole bunch of snowy owls and realised that the movie I was watching at the time was rather appropriate!

Handmade Christmas

I picked up a copy of "Handmade Christmas" magazine last week.

It's jam packed with festive decorating ideas and crafty, creative projects for the Christmas season... and two of my designs get a mention (yay!).

My snowy owl ornaments make an appearance in a snow-themed shopping guide ...

... and my vintage felt baubles tutorial gets a mention in a round-up of ideas for decorating with baubles:

It's always lovely to see my work in magazines! If you like the look of Handmade Christmas, I got my copy from WHSmith but it's also available online.

Snowy Owl Ornaments

Last night I finished lots of snowy owls - some brooches and some (new!) ornaments:

My mum has already requested one for Christmas (she's got a whole collection of my felt birdies), but I'll be listing the rest in my Etsy and Folksy shops this afternoon.

In My Workbox At The Moment...

... snowy owls, camera ornaments, badgers and a custom poppy brooch:

The owls always look a bit weird until their eyes and beaks get added! Some of them will be brooches and some will be (new!) ornaments for bird lovers and Harry Potter fans.

A workbox update

As you may have noticed from my shop announcements, I'm taking a few days off from "shop stuff" over the long Easter weekend. We're not doing anything special but as the Post Office will be closed anyway it seemed like the perfect opportunity to take a break from packing and posting and all the other admin that goes along with this online selling lark.

I won't be taking a break from crafting though, that would just be too weird!

First thing on my crafty to do list? Finishing these forget-me-not brooches:

As well as cutting out all those tiny forget-me-nots & enjoying the rhythm of sewing all those tiny stitches, this week I've been making lilac flower headbands (I love making those little felt buttons!), more snowy owl brooches , and finishing an extra-large flower brooch which will be making an appearance in my Etsy shop sometime soon.

Have you got anything planned this weekend? Will you be doing anything crafty?
