Neon Revival

Last night I finally worked out what I wanted to make with the fab neon pink felt I've had in my stash for ages...Bows!! As an eighties child (who wore many a neon accessory and many a bow in her hair) they make me feel slightly old and really happy all at the same time :)
As you can see, I paired the neon pink with a still bright but slightly more subtle aqua blue felt. I might make some of these in some more "tasteful" colours (any suggestions?), but at the moment I'm loving that neon zing!

I've made some of them into brooches, and some into headbands thanks to some matching stretchy headbands from my stash ... and they will be appearing in all my shops as soon as I get a chance to list them. Off to bake some cake now though...

The Urge to Bake

Thanks mostly to the inspiring baking done recently by my Flickr friend Gillyflower, I have been overcome by the urge to bake exciting things and make exceedingly pretty cakes.

I've not managed anything spectacular yet, but I have been shopping for some yummy supplies like these wonderful rainbow cake cases...... and I've temporarily satisfied my baking urge today by making up a batch of brownies. Out of a packet, but tasty all the same!

Custom Cakes

This morning I went to the Post Office to post a custom order for a trio of Felt Fancies and half a dozen Jammie Dodgers (including some with special heart centres). Of course I had to photograph them on a nice bit of crockery before I wrapped & packaged them...I've not made a chocolate-iced Felt Fancy before, only the pink and yellow ones as I thought they'd look nicer "in felt" but I think it turned out quite nicely so it may be added to my range sometime soon.

I Need Your Photos!

I've decided that what I really really want on my website is a gallery of customer photos - real people wearing my brooches, masks, hairbands, etc. I love it when people send me "customer appreciation" photos and the thought of having a whole gallery of them... well, it would make me very happy.

In order to tempt people into submitting their pics, if you send me a photo of yourself modelling your purchase you'll get a 10% discount off your next order! Hurrah!

Your photos will be used in the new gallery on my website, and may also appear on my blog. Discounts will be issued as Paypal refunds after payment, and exclude shipping, and can be used across all my shops - so if you've bought from me on Etsy but want to use your discount on my website that's no problem. One discount per customer, though of course you're welcome to send as many photos as you fancy :)

You can submit your pics via Etsy convo or by emailing me at: mail[at!]lupinhandmade.com

Want some inspiration? Check out some of the fab photos I've been sent in the past...
