Okay, so I am officially addicted to crochet now.
I'm not doing anything adventurous yet, still just practising the one stitch over and over to get the hang of it... but I think I'm getting there. Even the crochet novices amongst you will probably be able to spot the point at which I cracked it!
More crochet practice is planned for this evening while watching the gloriousness that is Eurovision :)

mmm...crochet is soooo addictive!!! I'm in crocheting too laltely and...I can't stop...LOL!!!
My mum tried persuade me to this few times, but still I don't have enough patience for this:)
LOL what a cool picture! You could sell it as a perfect example how practice makes perfect. Glad you're enjoying it so much!
I too have just discovered crocheting - I am only on granny squares at the moment but want to try a few other things when i get more time, you can see my efforts here http://craftfairy.blogspot.com/search/label/Crochet trouble is it seems to be all i am doing lately, the time goes by so fast when i am sitting there concerntrating!
How do you feel about Azerbaijan winning?
I’m sure I left a comment on your first post about this, but it seems to have disappeared in the general Blogger mess last week. I seem to remember that I offered encouraging words, but I see you have ‘taken off’ now and there will be no stopping you! Co-incidentally I had recently posted a piece on my blog about 'first getting hooked’, learning from my grandma, and revisiting patterns for my grandaughter which I first used thirty odd years ago for my own daughter. It’s a nice little story, if you get the time to read it. http://pickingupthethreads.blogspot.com/2011/05/on-first-getting-hooked.html
Ahh, you're a hooker now - I'm so proud!!!!!!!
Yay, I am so chuffed to have joined the crochet club! :D
Marysza - my first attempt to teach myself out of a book was a total disaster, just a mess of knots. Having a teacher made a HUGE difference.
Lisa - your granny squares are looking fab! The book you're using is the one the lady teaching me swears by, definitely going to have to get myself a copy.
Vixie - the Eurovision songs I like never do well! I'm not a big fan of the winning song, but Eurovision hosted by Azerbaijan could be fun!
Little Nell - so sorry blogger ate your first post, I did get to read it though! Love your story about revisiting those patterns... your finished pieces are so lovely! I bow down before your hooking skills :)
I'm totally addicted to crocheting...I think it's really satisfyng!
I have taught a few people to crochet I love watching them 'crack it' and it is wonderful to see the delight on their faces.Once that happens you know they are hooked
So satisfying .
Try freeform crochet!!! You probably know all about freeform knitting, so it will not be as exciting, but awesome things can be done with it :)
Oh goodness, I don't think I will ever be good and knitting or crochet to try making things without a pattern to follow!!
