I feel quite sure that no-one is interested in this sort of thing except me, but look! The Royal Mail have re-designed their Airmail stickers:The old ones are on the left, new sans-serif ones on the right. Note the addition of the teeny 'registered trademark' R next to Royal Mail, too. Is that really necessary on an Airmail sticker? I guess nowadays it must be.
These are the sort of things that fill my days and I am slightly worried that I find them as interesting as I do...

Trust me, you are not alone - I was excited about a year ago when they updated the special delivery/signed for stickers, and started doing it all on the computer.
Revel in your geekery, for it is a true blessing :P
xx
Dont worry. Too few people think about things like that.
not geekery :-)... okay maybe slightly, but in a good way- i would have noticed as well... and had the same reaction!!
Oooooh - ours still have the old ones at the minute. I'll look out for the new ones :)
When I stayed in England back in 1997, I noticed that the shampoo Elseve / Elvive had three different designs, depending on the country (France, Germany, England). I found that very interesting and referred with a lot of details and comparisons to my husband. Go for redesigned stickers :-)

what a nice post! I think that special people only mind about little every day things. :)
As usual, sorry for my English.

I think about the person who actually re-designed it. My guess is he or she is happy that you noticed his/her work, since most people won't and just slap the sticker on without looking twice!
I like the old ones better! They look a little vintage I guess.
My slightly geeky mail story? While on holidays I purposely asked for "pretty" stamps for my postcards!
i would definitely notice something like that too. it's always nice when those everyday things in your life start to adopt a more pleasing aesthetic!
Well spotted, I had to put my glasses on to see :D x
I noticed! x
I did run to the post office this morning but they gave me those with the old design :( (London is a bit behind!)
Oooh, well spotted! I prefer the old design, but only because I'm a curmudgeon and it matches the old-school serif font I use on my printed packages. I'm not quite sure why they felt the need to change it as most Post Offices print those white labels now with a hoofing big A on them.
