Untangling Threads

I have a horrid cold. Ugh.

So yesterday I took the day off and watched lots of murder mysteries (and a vampire movie) and made a start on sorting through my stash of embroidery thread, untangling it all and winding it neatly onto little cardboard bobbins.

So neat! It's taking a while to work my way through all my threads, but it will be totally worth it :)

After all the work the floss sure is pretty to look at. I've tortured myself by winding all my embroidery thread. It took me about a week. lol. But everything is easier to find/use now. :)

I know this is probably a very "duh!" question but I'm new at this :P What on earth is that little punch out hole at the bottom of a paper bobbin for? Sorry! It's been driving me mad! :P

How very organised! Hope you're feeling better soon, I've been relying on sudafed and lemsip this week and it sucks!

I always find these sorts of tasks really long winded but once you have everything all neat and tidy it is very rewarding :o)

I'm feeling much better now, hurrah!

It's definitely a long job winding all those threads, but most of the reason it took so long was because my thread had all got tangled and knotted from the messy way I was storing it before!

It was quite a relaxing task to do in front of the TV tho, and I am very much looking forward to being able to just pick out a bobbin of thread and use it without having to untangle it first :)

Rosie - according to the packaging on the thread box I've got, the holes are so you can tie groups of bobbins you're using for a particular project together. I've also seen people use the holes to pin the threads on noticeboards when planning designs.

I need to do this too. Friendship bracelet threads all around and in terrible mess. :)
