Vintage Trays

One of my lovely blog readers asked for a closer look at the tray buried under lots of felt in yesterday's post... and I'm happy to oblige :)

I use these two trays a lot when I'm sewing, along with a much less stylish assortment of upturned box lids. They're small, portable workspaces that I can easily tidy away in time for dinner or sit next to me on the sofa in the evenings, and they're totally invaluable when it comes to cutting out lots of tiny pieces of felt.

I work on lids and trays, but they are boring old plastic, I need to get some beauties like that!

And super cute too! I love adding vintage things to my work space. I often use a Victorian Hair Receiver for the thread ends I cut off my sewing.

Yay for tray crafting! If you craft on trays, don't forget to join and post to the group I started, Tray Crafters Unite! You have a few things in there, I believe!

A man in my village has a business making these trays . He goes under the name KESWICK TRAYS . He will laminate any of your own fabric to match your furnishings . When I leave your blog I shall see if he has a website--cottonreel

I have trays that I have bought from him

How lovely. I have exactly the same rose tray plus 12 more old fibre glass ones. I do feel a bit naughty for using them for crafting on but knowing you do to is great. I shall follow along.

Tray crafters unite! :) Thanks for the link Meaghan x

Nancy - yes, I love making use of my vintage treasures whenever I can.

solomi558 - must investigate those trays, thanks!

follyandglee - don't feel naughty! it's much better to use these things I think than have them stuck in a cupboard where no-one sees them :)
