I'm not following a fixed pattern, just stitching a repeating pattern of one row / two rows / one row / three rows, and mixing up the seven colours as I go along to get a nice selection.
I've not decided how large I want it to be yet... or how I'm going to finish the edge. I've got a while to go yet before I have to decide!

ReplyDeleteIt looks brilliant! So warm & cozy, it's Winter here in Australia & I just want to dive under it! Maybe you could just finish it with a single row of dark? ... you don't have to have a fancy edge to it!

ReplyDeleteRie - I think I might end up doing that. I'd hate to try some fancy edging & do it badly after all that work on the rest of the blanket.
Unfortunately it's starting to get warm here in the UK and as the blanket gets bigger I'm definitely going to have to choose cooler evenings to work on it!
Oh gorgeousness and the joy of not having lots of little squares to sew together as well!

ReplyDeleteDoesn't it just take forever though! It seems quick, but I realised when I was making a blanket it was taking 1 hour to do one row! Yours is looking great.
ReplyDeleteI've reached the point where it's taking me over an hour to do one round. I shall be able to guestimate how many hours it took me by counting the rings, like on a tree!
ReplyDeleteI mostly crochet in front of the TV in the evenings, it's nice to know all those many many hours are creating something instead of just being "wasted".
