There's an interview with me over on the DaWanda blog today - all about my creative process and running my DaWanda shop. You can read the interview here.
I often get emails from people asking questions about felt crafting and my crafty business, so I wondered if you guys have any questions you want to ask me :)
If you'd like to ask me a question just leave a comment on this post and I'll write up the answers over the next few weeks.
I have been wondering something! Do you handcut everything or do you have some cool felt-cutting device? Everything always looks so professionally cut, wondered how you did it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Louana
You sent me an email a while ago, about being self employed and running an online business while being ill. I think that would be a good one to share.
ReplyDeleteYou're always an inspiration! Just to let you know that there is a blog award waiting for you over at my blog (http://wrappedupwithstring.blogspot.com/) - love the blog! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing, the interview is so lovely and honest!
ReplyDeletecongrats!

Like Louana I have been wondering how you cut everything so neatly. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteIf it is not too late to ask my question, I wonder the same thing as Louana and Fiona, and more precisely if you have a special way of marking a shape on the felt before cutting it (I tried many solutions, including several kinds of fabrics markers and paper shapes fixed on the felt with temporary glue but still haven't found a simple and satisfactory solution).
ReplyDeleteI'd be glad to hear you on that, if you happen to be willing to share that kind of informations :).

ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteI use paper patterns for all my designs, and either pin them to the felt or hold them against it if they're too small for a pin, and then cut carefully round the pattern.
The key to cutting out small pieces is to have a pair of small scissors like embroidery scissors so you can cut details easily :)
I'll definitely be writing some posts inspired by this - I've had some customers ask for a "beginners guide" to felt crafting, and your questions fit really well with that.
Josie - I get asked about that quite a lot too, you're right I think it would be a great topic to share :)
