Custom Cakes

This morning I went to the Post Office to post a custom order for a trio of Felt Fancies and half a dozen Jammie Dodgers (including some with special heart centres). Of course I had to photograph them on a nice bit of crockery before I wrapped & packaged them...I've not made a chocolate-iced Felt Fancy before, only the pink and yellow ones as I thought they'd look nicer "in felt" but I think it turned out quite nicely so it may be added to my range sometime soon.

I Need Your Photos!

I've decided that what I really really want on my website is a gallery of customer photos - real people wearing my brooches, masks, hairbands, etc. I love it when people send me "customer appreciation" photos and the thought of having a whole gallery of them... well, it would make me very happy.

In order to tempt people into submitting their pics, if you send me a photo of yourself modelling your purchase you'll get a 10% discount off your next order! Hurrah!

Your photos will be used in the new gallery on my website, and may also appear on my blog. Discounts will be issued as Paypal refunds after payment, and exclude shipping, and can be used across all my shops - so if you've bought from me on Etsy but want to use your discount on my website that's no problem. One discount per customer, though of course you're welcome to send as many photos as you fancy :)

You can submit your pics via Etsy convo or by emailing me at: mail[at!]lupinhandmade.com

Want some inspiration? Check out some of the fab photos I've been sent in the past...

Keep Your Moustaches Tidy

Sometimes, I think that my boyfriend invites people round just so he can get me to tidy away all my sewing gubbins (normally spread across all available surfaces). I can't really argue, as table tops covered with rows of moustache-disguises-in-progress (whilst a conversation starter in some circumstances) are probably best tidied away for business meetings!I'm currently using little bags to store all my "in progress" pieces - you can see my batches of brown and black moustaches in the top of the photo, already packed. It's really nice to be able to store everything and leave things until later, especially if I'm in the mood to just cut lots of things out instead of sewing one project right through, or when I don't have the right materials to get things finished, and when I want something to sew there's always a bag of pieces waiting for me...

Spring! Woohoo!

It really feels like spring today, but I can't believe March has rolled around so quickly!

We can't see much of the Great Outdoors from inside our flat, but I have some daffodils to bring the sunshine inside...
