Sample Sale This Weekend!

I'm having a sample sale this weekend, selling lots of my hand-stitched pieces at bargain prices.

Here's a peek at some of the things which will be available:

I'll be listing everything gradually this week over in my Big Cartel shop, and the listings will be available to purchase from 10am (UK time) this Sunday, 9th June.

P.S. I've decided to keep my Big Cartel shop just for occasional sample sales, so after this week if you're looking for my printable PDF sewing patterns you'll only find them in my Etsy shop.

Primrose Brooches in Sewing World

I'm delighted to report that my primrose brooches have been featured in the April issue of Sewing World magazine (out now).

It's always so nice seeing my designs in the press!

I've actually reduced the price of the primrose brooches since the magazine contacted me about featuring them. The single primrose brooches are now just £7.50 each...

... and the primrose trio brooches are just £12 each. Hurrah!

UPDATE: My primrose design is now available as a sewing pattern! Visit my shop to see all my printable PDF patterns

Things in my workbox #1

Thanks for all the well-wishes, everyone :)

I've been listening to lots of fantastic crafty podcasts, working my way through a box set of Doctor Who and generally taking it easy, and I'm gradually starting to feel a little more human.

Over the next few days I'll be sharing some quick snaps of things I've been working on recently & which will be making an appearance in my shops once I get back on my feet.

First up, large layered flower brooches - these have been in my workbox for simply ages while I ummed and aahhed about which colours to use for embroidery thread and buttons. It's lovely seeing them finally taking shape! (And yes, that is an upturned biscuit tin lid. They make such fantastic portable workspaces).

I'm Running a Flower Shop

Well, not really but it definitely seems like that at the moment - I've been listing so many flower brooches!

I got the chance to do a big Etsy shop update today, and have added some cheerful "bloom" brooches and headbands that have been languishing shamefully in my wip box for almost a year...I've also started listing my new eco felt flowers, which I actually designed after playing around with the leaf shapes from those bloom pieces. Funny how one thing leads to another, isn't it?

As planned, the larger flowers are chunky brooches...... and the smaller ones (still quite large at 4 inches across!) have a plastic comb sewn on so you can wear them in your hair:As usual, all the designs will be listed gradually in my Etsy shop over the coming days. All the eco flowers are one of a kind, so - please excuse cheeky sales pitch! - if there's one you particularly want let me know (I'm always happy to reserve things).

UPDATE: The design I used for my eco flowers is now available as a sewing pattern! Visit my shop to see all my printable PDF patterns:
