Giveaway: Embroidery Thread Storage Box & Threads

I've decided to stop selling the embroidery thread storage boxes currently listed in the "Craft Supplies" section of my shop. They're super useful things (my embroidery thread stash is sooo much easier to use since I started storing them this way)... BUT I really need to clear some space in my studio so these bulky boxes have to go!

I'm also giving away one of the small boxes... filled with a rainbow of 36 different thread (floss) colours already neatly wound on bobbins. Hurrah!

These are the Duchess brand stranded embroidery threads I usually sell in my shops (they're out of stock at the moment but I'm hoping to have lots of packs back in stock early next month). I made up this box of threads to use in my product photos for the storage boxes... and since I no longer need it (and have plenty of this thread in my stash already) I thought it'd make a lovely little giveaway prize to share with you guys :)

The little box of threads would make a great starter collection of threads if you want to try embroidery or cross-stitch for the first time, a sweet gift for a friend you want to convert to the joys of stitching, or a nice addition to your stash if you're already an avid stitcher.

Winding Threads

As well as knitting simple blanket squares when I was a little under the weather, I wound lots of skeins of embroidery floss onto bobbins and filed them neatly in my thread boxes. I've bought quite a few new colours lately, so my thread collection has expanded from one box to two:

There's a big rainbow of "random" floss from all sorts of different shops and brands, and then the colours to the right of the second box are all DMC threads with the bobbins neatly labelled with the shade numbers.

I love how pretty and cheerful the boxes of thread look, and having the thread wound on the bobbins makes it much easier to find the colours I want in my stash and to use (and store) the thread without it tangling.

I'm also slowly winding bobbins with the shades from the embroidery thread pack I sell in my shops, so I can use them in some new product images in the spring...

This is one of those jobs that's been on my to do list for ages - it feels great to be finally getting on with it!

Back in Stock: Embroidery Supplies + Christmas Felt

Thanks to a delivery of supplies yesterday, a few lovely things are now back in stock in my main shop, as well as my Etsy and Folksy shops.

The rainbow embroidery thread (floss) bundles are back after being unavailable for a couple of months. 

I also sell embroidery thread boxes and bobbins so you can organise your threads like this...

... since winding all my threads on bobbins like that, I've found it much easier to find the colours I want & there's no more wasting time untangling knotted thread (hurrah!).

The 3 inch (7.5cm) embroidery hoops are also back in stock (I got some of these in a couple of weeks ago but they sold out pretty quickly). These are great for framing all your smallest stitcheries, and they're small enough for making Christmas ornaments too.

Plus the Christmas felt packs are back, ready for lots of festive crafting!

Each pack contains a selection of wool blend felt squares in greens (for Christmas trees, holly & ivy) browns (for Christmas puddings & reindeer), white (for icing, snowmen & snow), reds (for santa hats, candy canes & berries) and ginger (for gingerbread men & gingerbread houses).

A Rainbow of Embroidery Thread

I finished winding all my embroidery thread onto those cardboard bobbins...

Next came the fun part: sorting it into colour order to make an embroidery thread rainbow!

The rainbow is pretty (oh so pretty!) but also practical as I can see at a glance what colours I've got in my stash.

Each box comes with lots of card bobbins for winding your thread, but I've also got packs of card and plastic bobbins you can buy separately if you fancy organising your threads neatly but already have a box to keep them in.
